The Process

Each Officer is provided (and linked via their own fingerprint) with a 8” Android tablet with full connectivity via a 4G & 5G roaming SIM that is directly connected via API to HANIS & eNaTIS. In addition to the usual full stack Android functionality.

Each tablet has the following API Technology:

License
Validity

The Officer must correctly validate the Motorist’s driving license.  The Officer uses The Mobile Sheriff to scan and decrypt the 2D barcodes to confirm validity at NATIS and check for outstanding summons or warrants.

Proof
of Identity

The Officer must correctly identify the motorist by their ID number and fingerprint.  The Officer captures a Touchless Fingerprint of the Motorist’s thumb and matches it against the HANIS database.

Infringment
Notice

Once the Motorist’s details have been captured the AARTO document is auto populated and the infringement notice is delivered to the motorist’s cell phone and email address with all supporting metadata. The Mobile Sheriff is able to serve section 54 summonses and allocating summonses to the court and servers subject to the approval of the Municipal Manager using the Motorist’s cellphone as their domicilium.

Payment
Platform

The Mobile Sheriff has partnered with Ozow (and several other payment platform providers) to allow the Motorist to pay the fine at the time of the infringement making use of either a debit or credit card or EFT payment platforms. Once the value has been receipted the motorist receives an electronic notice from The Mobile Sheriff that the payment has been received.
